At least ten high-ranking executives, including Stéphanie Cabossioras, Binance France director, have left the cryptocurrency exchange in the current year.
Stéphanie Cabossioras has resigned from her position as the Executive Director of Binance France, marking her as the latest in a series of at least ten senior executives to leave Binance this year. In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on October 19, Binance France resident David Prinçay confirmed Cabossioras’ departure and extended his appreciation for her contributions to the exchange.
“We thank Stéphanie for her valuable contributions at Binance France and wish her success in her future endeavors,” Prinçay said.
Cabossioras joined Binance in April 2022 as the Head of Legal for its French arm and was later promoted to Executive Director in November of the same year. According to a Binance spokesperson, her departure has had no impact on the French operations, which continue to grow.
Before her role at Binance, Cabossioras served as the General Counsel at Autorité des Marchés Financiers, a major financial regulatory body in Quebec, Canada.
In June, Binance’s French arm faced a local investigation for alleged money laundering and other charges. Stéphanie Cabossioras is the latest of at least ten senior executives to leave Binаnce this year. On July 6, three other executives, including the Chief Strategy Officer, General Counsel, and Vice President of Marketing and Communications, also departed. Binance’s CEO, Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, downplayed these departures, calling them a normal part of the company’s evolution and dismissing reports as FUD.
Binance’s legal problems have escalated due to a series of prominent lawsuits filed by U.S. regulators. In March, the Commodities Futures Trading Commission filed a lawsuit against CZ, Binance, and its affiliates, alleging a range of trading violations.
In June, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission initiated legal action, suing CZ, Binаnce, and its affiliates for allegedly functioning as an unregistered securities broker and other related charges.
