Malaysian electricity supplier Sarawak Energy has identified a mining farm in the city of Miri on the island of Borneo, whose owners were engaged in illegal mining of cryptocurrencies. This is reported by local media.
The farm consisted of 34 ASIC miners connected to the network by cable removal. It was possible to detect the violators based on a public complaint.
Sarawak Energy estimates that the owners of the equipment stole about 6,000 Malaysian ringgit ($1,300) worth of electricity every month. The authorities seized devices for mining cryptocurrencies.
