The Starknet Foundation has recognized early contributors by allocating 50 million STRK tokens, despite their locked status until April 2024. This Layer-2 blockchain network, built on Ethereum, prioritizes scalability, cost-efficiency, and security. Established in November 2022, the Starknet Foundation’s mission is to support the growth and advancement of the Starknet ecosystem.
To reward contributors who have made substantial contributions to the ecosystem, the Foundation introduced the Early Community Member Program (ECMP). This initiative acknowledges those who have enriched technical discussions, been associated with key projects, organized events, or produced Stаrknet-related content, highlighting the diverse ways community members have fueled network development. The Stаrknet Foundation holds 50.1% of the minted STRK tokens, with 32.9% allocated to contributors and 17% to investors. The ECMP aims to distribute these tokens to nurture and expand the community further.
Starknet is presently positioned as the sixth-largest Layer-2 blockchain network on Ethereum, with a total locked value of $137 million.
