Aptos experienced a five-hour interruption, notably occurring in the same week as the network’s launch in 2022.
The Layer-1 blockchain Aptos Network has resumed regular operations following a substantial five-hour interruption that had consequences for transactions on its network. AptoScan network tracker data indicates that on-chain transactions on the Move language-based blockchain came to a halt at 11:11 pm UTC on October 18, specifically at block 104621314.
Aptоs appeared to acknowledge the outage with a post on X (formerly Twitter), saying:
“Your enthusiasm for Aptos One was so electrifying that you momentarily dimmed the lights!”
During the outage, Aptоs acknowledged transaction impacts and worked to resolve the issue. Upbit and OKX suspended Aptоs deposits and withdrawals for maintenance. Aptos Labs celebrated the one-year anniversary of Aptоs Mainnet’s launch before the outage. Aptоs, backed by venture capital, was created by former Meta employees with experience on Facebook’s Diem blockchain.
